The Sundial
A sundial is located on the wall facing east of the
tower. It was created by P. Jacobus Bettineschi S. from
Dezzo in 1922. Two mottoes are carved on the sundial:
"We measure the immense heavens in small spaces"
and "The name of the Lord must be worshipped from
sunrise to sunset".
Evident and almost unique are the corrections in minutes
and seconds of the time equation for all days of the year
that are sculpted on hundreds of bricks on the same wall
of the sundial, to confirm the interest in astronomy by
the religious.
